MY "HARDWORKING" DAUGHTER

My other daughter is Rachel Marie Dumbong. She was born on 1st December 1998, and now she is 7 years old. She is currently studying at SJK (C) St. James, Likas Kota Kinabalu in Primary 2. Before that she was at Chung Hwa Kindergarten for three years.

One thing that I am particulalrly impressed with my girl Rachel is that she loves to go to school. Even before she was qualified to enter kindergarten, she already demanded to be sent to school. And, indeed she adapted very well and fast.

In terms of language, she is quite proficient in Mandarin, English and Malay. She is still struggling with Kadazandusun, though. Although not scoring very high in her term exams, she has been showing impressive improvements and the determination to complete her daily homeworks. She would cry easily if she couldn't grasp well with the lessons and homeworks.

Her daily activity is of course schooling. Besides that she also attend Abacus mental Arithmetic every Saturday, English on Friday, and other subjects on Wednesday and Thursday after school. On Sunday, she would go to Sacred Heart Cathedral, Kota Kinabalu for Sunday School.

Her other hobbies are riding bicycle, drawing & coloring, and ride the amusement rides. I still remember when we went to Genting Resort in February 2005, where my children, including Rachel, would not stop from riding the rides. She is so branve in that sense.

As other parents, I would also like to see my daughter grow well and wisely. It is our prayer that Mother Mary, who inspires us to name her Rachel "Marie",would always by her side, guiding her to the righteousness.
